It's not an LS1 (or at least not for now), but it will be getting painted at some point in the near future. I was thinking about a dark gray (a little darker than Viper Steel Gray) like GMC Storm Gray, and at some point IROC blue was in the mix. Any ideas or suggestions?

Actually I think you should go with maybe an updated GM color...Electron Blue, Sunset Orange, I think even silver would look awesome....I do like the idea of viper gray....A lot of people like the 69 Camaros, but to me nothing beats a 68 RS/SS....man those are awesome looking! Good luck!

An updated GM color would look quite good. Electron blue is good. I had a camaro painted "Medium quasar blue metallic" quite possibly my favorite color on a car, ever.
You know the LS1 is available in crate engine form now, right? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Thanks for the responses, it will probably be primered black (which will probably look pretty sick) for a few months untill the paint guy is ready for it. I had not thought about NBM, I think that would look pretty awesome as would the electron blue. The electron blue is a little lighter than the IROC blue (I had another Camaro that was IROC blue). My 00 Z28 is Monterey Maroon, but I don't think I will go with that color. Thanks for the input, and in regards to LS1 crate motors who knows, I have seriously been thinking about some type of turbo system.

Nine Ball, that second link is probaly one of the best cars I have seen in my life. I'd trade in my 1999 Camaro SS for that car in half of a heart beat. Man, that car is so nice looking.

Look at the third link, now that is a good idea gone bad, the guy in the second link kept the wheels at fender height and made up for the ground gap with a skirt and accented it with the exhaust, jeepers, it's plain but looks awesome. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

I think the car in the second link is amazing, I think it is Avus Blue Pearl (based on the description below). By the way, I think that if you could trade your 99 SS for that car it would be a bargain. That guy has spent alot of money on that car.

The 68 Camaro had a very nice shade of blue that was very light. I think it was called Astro blue. There was one other shade, I might have them confused.
Anyway, I saw a custom paint job on a 39 Chevy Hot Rod that was tricked out. He had "House of Colours" mix this shade. They added some silver base, as he described it, but kept the same color shade. IT WAS UNBELIEVEABLE!
I have never been a nut of lighter shades of blue until I saw this. It was one of a kind. I will never forget that, and as I told myself, IF I ever finish my 73 Camaro Hot Rod, it will be that same shade.
Sorry I can't look it up, I loaned out my Camaro "numbers book". I hope I get it back.
