Default Update: Some parts back from shop.. pics..

Well I'm finally starting to get parts BACK from the various shops and so far I'm very happy. In this first pic you can see some of the custom braid I had done.

A. Air Conditioning lines
B. One of the power steering lines
C. Main fuel line

If you notice that some of the AN fitting are blue.. thats my fault for not telling the shop to use plain ones. But, the blue dye comes off easy with a toothbrush and oven cleaner

Cost a pretty penny because it is very labor intensive. The factory fittings are cut off the old hoses then a jig is made to hold it all. After that the aluminum or stainless male AN fitting is either heliarched or welded to the factory fitting. Its then smoothed out. The nice part is that the main AC line in no longer ONE PIECE. So if I have to service somthing (say replace the dryer) it will be much eaiser. All hose used or the AC lines is carbon lined teflon with a braided outer. The fuel is braided/teflon.. We are still working on the fuel return line since all the fittings are plastic. Wish they made metal ones.. but we have ideas ~ I wonder what ends are on the 98 vette fuel return line?? hmmm

Here you can see some of the first parts back from the polisher..

AC line, T-stat housing and the new billet power steering pulley from Turn One. The pulley came hard annodized a dark bronze color and I had the shop just polish the face. It gives a nice contrast.

Im still debating if Im going to have these parts clear powered to ease maintance. Well thats it till the end of the week when the parts get done at the powder shop and next week when the chrome is done. Still waiting for my SLP hi-cap radiator and LS6 intake.. then comes the fun part of putting it all back together rollingeye

Thanks for letting me share

Steve, when you get the return fuel line figured out I'll need you to have a set made for me. I really want the braided lines!

Steve, that pulley sure looks nice. Can you tell a difference in weight between the new one and the stocker?

I will try to weigh them before install. The stock pulley is pretty heavy for a stock piece. On this one the extra weight of the billet is compensated for by the holes. VERY nicely made and only $50!! (plus polishing) More plastic GONE from my car.. YIPEE!!!

Mark IXZD 150: already have you on the list -- I need to check out a 98 vette..
