Very awesome work man! Not sure why pewter is not more popular I for one love the color looks fantastic when cleaned up.

What did you use for the inside of the wheels? Mine are in the same boat packed dirty of 10 years of dirty and crap.

Thanks, I used Sonax to break it up a bit then a brillo pad and some soap/water + and elbow grease. I then took a old yellow compounding pad and some high cut compound to make it a little better. But in all honesty it need to be sanded and repolished the right way. I just wanted to clean it up for now.

Very nice! I really need to do the same thing to mine. I've been searching for pewter cars freshly detailed, but couldn't find any. Now, you've given me inspiration!

The color is great for hiding imperfections and dirt. I really do like the color and how it subtly changes in lighting conditions. I've never grown tired of the color.

I used the Porter cable and menzerna 203 on a 3" orange (med cut) pad to start. Took a couple of passes at it and worked some spots for quite some time. Then I went over it with the rest of the car on a final pass with menzerna 106fa and a white (light cut) pad.

I use a similar approach to headlight correction but often start with an aggressive pad and/or compound if they are real bad. I'll take my time with it instead of trying to wetsand.

This is a great example of what some time and some passion can bring you and on a Pewter this is one of the harder projects that you can have next to maybe a white car.

Thanks bud. Yeah I've done a couple white cars some are a royal pain (like that jeep). Good lighting makes the difference. You can see we got a gymnasium lamp up front from the ceiling and we move the staging lights around as we go, plus a handheld.
