Default Anyone know about body painting (car body..lol)

I have a wrecked front end. I can get a used OEM bumper that is a different color. How much would it cost to repaint it? Anywhere in good AND cheap in Houston? I am selling my car soon so the cheaper the better. Thanks in advance

There are a couple of car paint places on FM1960 past willowbrook that you can check out. But if you want real cheap! Go to MACO.

Paint it yourself. You can rent the tools, and go to any GM dealership with your paint code. Instructions are listed below. I've repainted several body panels on dry days on my deck, with no problems.

Really? I have absolutly no clue as too how to do it, but I guess I could sand down some of my old bumper and paint it and see how it comes out. Thanks for the idea.

Leave it to a pro..If it looks bad, you will loose money on the car!! If your car is any other color thatn black, white or flat red, you will have to blend the paint into the fenders and hood...Some shops will have the skills to "tint" the paint, in order to save the customer added $$ on the sand and blend...

words CHEAP and GOOD don't go together in the paint business.
If you want cheap go to Maco and you will get a cheap paint job. If you want quality take it to a professional shop and let them sand, prep and paint the part. Black is one of the hardest colors to match if you plan on painting it yourself. Even if you get a paint code from the dealer, each paint code could have up to a dozen variances in the color.

good paint with reducer clear and reduce would cost at least 100 to do the bumper so really 300 would be cheap..fyi on my 2000 chevy pickup i shot the front clip with Centari single stage black (regular old premix) looked close as it would have if i had shot the thing bc/cc, no one could tell after i colorsanded and buffed it...
