Question Light weight carpet??????

G2LS1 (Louis) is installing my cage the first week of april...Im looking at going with light weight carpet.
Does anyone know how much it weights?,,,Also I will be leaveing the sound deadening out..how much does that weight also?

Louis is makeing a chrome moly cage he told me this will weight between 34 and 38lbs ..sound about right?

Year One stuff is ~$230, fits good.

Stock = 34-36lbs
Year One = 14lbs

How is that carpet lighter? Does teh lightweight carpet still have the sound deadening material on the bottom?

Yeah, I'm curious as to how it's made lighter too. Doesn't it look cheaper?

Lighter carpet material. Stock stuff is rubber backed. Sound deading is also lighter.

I made my own.

6'x3' rolls of black carpet from pep boys trimmed and glued down, done it on a couple cars now, looks just fine. lighter than anything out there i imagine, i bet all the carpet in my entire car weighs about 5 lbs total, lol.

here is the only one i can think of off hand


interior noise is not a concern with my car, the thing is loud as hell, and makes all manner of strange noises with the full drag suspension and what not anyway.

I honestly haven't compared the two. Some have said this looks nicer, other have said it looks the same.
