Question Pics of painted SS scoops

Im am thinking about getting the SS hood I won on the raffle painted black like my car but with the scoop painted a gunmetal/silverish color. Anyways if you guys can post some close up picks it would help me get an idea of how to describe the scheme to the body shop. I dont care what color eithier I just need some pics. Thanks guys

Painting is to permanent! Try this, http://www.3rdgendecals.com/Manta.htm that way after a while if you don't like it you can take it off, its what I plan on doing when I get my SS hood in next week.

Painting lasts longer, wont bubble up, wont crease, wont rip,,,etc... Do it RIGHT the first time. IMO i hate the small line on the outside of the decals

That looks awesome man, I would love to have that on my hood. How much did it cost to have that painted?

I paid $550 for the hood scoop and hood (a buddy of mine is a painter) to be painted with several coats of clear (on the whole hood) so you cannot feel the stripe. Plus this also includes the rear deck lid and spoiler (we have not painted that yet we are looking at next month some time)

Decals are just as bad, when you remove them, the paint that wasnt covered will look faded.

wait, i'm confused now... is it your car Steve or Sandy's? the car in both your sig and Sandy's message has the same car number

either way, i also like the painted stripes, i'm gettin my car painted Hugger Orange soon with White stripes as soon as i can afford the Ultra-Z hood, spoiler, wings west body kit, and the grille

I'm currently working on a model where I'm painting the car true blue pearl, the manta a dark grey pearl, and I'm gunna paint a stripe that runs down the center of the scoop and down the front flat black. I hope it comes out pretty good but so far no luck. I keep screwing up on the hood.

Hey Sandy,

Can you post a couple of pics of the spoiler stripe? That setup looks very smooth!
