Default Purple gauges and HVAC?

Ive seen plenty of blue, white and red LED gauges but Im wanting to do purple. Ive only seen 1 thread with UV LEDs in the cluster and nothing in the HVAC but they seem so incredibly dim.

Has anyone done purple LEDs that are decently bright??

Probably won't look good on a trans am hvac or gauge cluster .
Unless the orange film isn't present

I put purple. (Uv) in my girls car. Not in the gauges but in the glove box, trunk, and door lights. She likes it a lot and surprisingly I like it as well. It reminds me of a blacklight feel. I think it has a good shot at looking badass cause the leds are bright regardless

Here's what we tried with my f-body while developing the 6LE gauge overlays... UV bulbs

I realize that the picture probably darkens it a bit. Were the gauges still decently visible at night? Ive got 5% tint so its extremely dark in the cabin as is. Just want to make sure Im not squinting to read them.

Nope, not too bright at all. You might slightly squint to see them. I tried out our neon green needles with them and that's why the needles look so good. I wasn't crazy about the LED's so I pulled them and they're just sitting here. If I can find them, you can have them for $15 for all 5. deal? It's worth a try.

Appreciate the offer Sommer, but I decided Im going to go with blue lighting on the gauges as soon as I can afford some 6LE and some of your needles. I need them to be quite a bit brighter than UV can offer :/

I don't blame you. The blue looks bad ***, and the UV isn't the brightest. If you go with blue LEDs and white needles, the needles will light up blue to match the LEDs at night and the white will be a nice contrast during the day.

When i first thought about swapping to leds instead of going smart and ordering 100 leds for around 7bucks off of "the bay", i went to radio shack and bought a few different ones for around $4.00 a piece. UV wont be as bright as the blue just saying right now. One of the blue's that i bought had a nice purple glow to it. It had to do with the mcd/volt/and i think 1 more factor. Its basically a guessing game till you find the specs on the exact shade you want. I also decided to swap all of my overlays to camaro overlays. If you are wanting 6LE overlays, you better hurry! He is only taking orders till the end of January (few hours) and then no more!

I'm much too lazy to wire my own.
Where did you hear that 6LE is stopping production on his gauges?

Not at all. It's all good. Anytime anyone can find a deal I suggest they take it. But man, it sure is a pain to solder in LEDs rather than just plug some in.

Below is all true...

Unfortunate for sure. Got my gauge order in but It looks like I'll never have my hvac done. Is there any other way to change the hvac color?
