Default Interior Swap?

Just because I'm curious and I couldn't find an actual answer through search (sorry if you guys find it on your first try ... I couldn't). Is it possible to do an entire interior swap between the 93-97 and 98+? I know it'd be difficult & tedious but the interior in my 96 is not a pleasant sight, and I prefer the newer interior. My goal would be to find a cheap V6 M5 so that I could swap the interiors and then just take the V6 to the junk yard with my interior/exterior on it.

I believe they are entirely interchangeable.

Any issues with the gauge cluster not working after the swap? I've read that the speedo in the 98+ is electrical and the 93-97 is mechanical ... is this true?

No. Speedos are both electrical as far as I know.

Awesome ... now I just have to either find a roller or a junk'd/total'd donor.

97 will.

So I've got to find an 97 to keep the cluster working ... that'll make this a bit harder.

camaro or firebird?

are you swapping the dash as well?

shouldn't be too hard to find clusters. i have a few 98s and a few 93-96s. usually pay about 30-40 bucks.
