Default Anyone else having this problem?

I while back i got the clear front reflectors off bay and I keep getting water in them and it keeps busting the bulb. I was going to put some clear silicone around it then around where the bulb goes in. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so how did you go about fixing it? Thanks

I think just about everyone with clear corners has had this problem. I put silicone around where the bulb goes in and it solved the problem.

Very common problem. I gotta change a set yet again and then seal them.

Drill a small hole in the bottom, bead of silicone around the whole lense and you will not have any more problems.

Not being a jerk or anything but what will the hole in the bottom do? Won't that still allow water and condensation in?

Condensation will find its way in there every so often. The hole lets it out. It's worse to have a small leak in with no where to go than a big leak with a place for it to go.

The problem lies where the casting pieces become one, not where the bulb sits. Just put some clear silicone around the lenses and it should seal it.

I forgot to place the rubber gasket on mine. It stayed attached to the old lamp, lil black rubber piece. Mine filled up and while I was taking off the bulb fixture I noticed it was lose. I compared it to the other one and noticed it was missing the rubber gasket. I felt like a dumbass. Looked at the old one.. TA-DAHHHH....

Just a thought...

Calking it up is probably the right way to fix it but I drilled small holes at the bottom of mine so they would drain. Did this 2 years ago and problem solved.

I have found there are basically two types available on ebay. Cheap ones and slightly more expensive (but more durable) ones. I had the black corners, but same idea.

The vast majority of the markers on ebay are the cheap crap ones. I had a set. I think they looked a tad bit better but the plastic was junk and warped and melted from the heat of the bulb over time, which then would let water in and blow the bulbs. I got a set of the other kind (seller neondials has them last I checked) and I no longer had blowing bulbs or water in the housings.

^ May have to check into that seller next time. I'm thinking about going from the clear/black ones to the clear/chrome ones on my car.
