My custom coil relocation!!! PICS ADDED!
Hey guys,
Work is a bit slow today, so I figured I would start this thread, ill have to add pictures tonight.
Over the past couple months I have been working on a new coil relocation kit, one that is different than any others I have seen.
Rather than move the coils under the cowl, I decided it would be cool to drop them down by the oil pan,
I made my own bracket, which took a ton of trial and error, but I finally got a set of brackets that fits awesome, and is very rigid.
It mounts on the two lower engine mount bolts as well as one oil pan bolt.
I made my own spark plug wires, with 90* boots on the spark plugs,
It is so sneaky, you can barely see any portion of the system when it is all installed.
I did have to extend my ignition coil wiring, but that was a non-issue because I was already re-wiring my entire harness.
Passenger Side
Drivers Side
Front
My loyal helper
Which brings me to the second part of this thread
(This part may get lost in here, but I am not so full of myself that I feel the need for two threads)
I pulled off all of the loom and untangled all of the wiring back to the PCM...
from there I look at what route would be the best for each wire,
i.e. rather than have the TPS/IAC wiring come over the top with the injector wiring, I ran it along the drivers side oil pan, along with the cam sensor, coolant temp, alternator, MAF, 1357 ignition coil wiring.
Back to work, I will expand and add pictures later.

Thank you,
Yes, I actually put together a patent application, that I will be submitting, I'm not sure if Ill end up marketing them, but I figured I might as well stick my name on it.
Thanks, yes, but how many times have you ever had a coil fail? Its well worth it, it looks great and clear up a lot of space.
This is such a better alternative than sticking them under the cowl... I never liked how that looked, with the plug wires all over.
Thanks for the positive feedback, this seems like something most of LS1tech would want for their car....
Also DIFFERENT PICTURES AT 7:30PM, showing the plug wires, and how it looks with the header installed. ZWA!

Thanks guys,
Zex, Ive been planning on trying it with the stock mounts, ill probably have to modify the bracket, but it should work. Also, im planning on making another bracket, that will work with A/C (there is technically room) I just need a pump to test fit.
