6 Liter Eater's 'Whistler' Headlights So I, like many, am suffering from the yellowing of the oem headlights and looking for a replacement. I like the look of the Whistler headlights but due to the fact that it is an aftermarket part im debating whether to go with them or not. Anyone purchased these before and can tell me the quality and durability of these? By the way there going on a red 1999 SS that sits outside if that helps at all.

I've had mine since early this year. Quality is great, the headlight is solid and rubber seems to be pretty durable. My car also sits outside and it's been through sleet, rain, 100+ degree days directly in the sun and they are holdling up great. I highly recommend them.

Nope, Crystal clear! Even if they did start to get a little yellow after a while it'd be a lot easier to clear up than old ones, catch it before it gets too bad.

How far gone are your lights? I picked up that meguiers lens restore kit from the parts house and my lights look brand new now. They were pretty faded before. Cheaper alternative if your strapped for cash.

i did the same. wetsanded and buffed mine though. i think they turned out quite well. although i did need to cut the nipples off of the lenses to get to the yellowing around the bases. i personally woulndnt buy something i could do myself for the price of a can of spray paint and some time.
that being said, if your headlights are damaged or beyond repair, get 'em. i am very fond of whistler'd headlights

Theyre pretty much done, ive done the meguiars kit before and it lasted for about 2 months maybe then the process started itself again, is there a sealant you guys use to stop or slow down the yellowing process?

120 is a good price but check availability I know that they had issues a few months ago because depo quit making them. Also the depo are only half whistle red and with the 6le headlights make takes the depo brand and whistlers them himself
Here are my stock ones that I refinished. It was much easier spending 8 hours on my headlights than it was spending $120. I used a heat gun and everything took around 8 hours

Yep I did the exact same thing. To get them perfect you need to grind off the nipples, I used 320 grit, 600, then 1000 grit and shot them with a few coats of clear. Came out perfect, just grind the nipples off and sand till you can not see any imperfections in the headlight cover
120 is a good price but check availability I know that they had issues a few months ago because depo quit making them. Also the depo are only half whistle red and with the 6le headlights make takes the depo brand and whistlers them himself

Incorrect, the ones you order from depo now are fully whislerized. 6le was never painting them himself. He came out in a thread about it that was started some time ago if I remember right he got depo to make them and he sold them for a 10% markup over his cost(very reasonable), but looks like depo started selling them direct as well much cheaper. All the pics you see will show the half whistlered ones, dont be fooled, order them and love your new, fully whistlered lights for 150ish.

We mentioned to them that we only wanted lenses and they wouldn't sell them to us. So we told Them that they should really do ALL BLACK housings. That request they did listen to (but never gave us a price break, just direct access to the stock of headlights they had) but we never got a great price on them.
However, before Depo started making the "full" Whistler headlights, I myself used chrome stock Depo lights and did the whistler mod to them (or OEM GM lights). Here's a comparison pic of my personal whistler work on a new pair of HL's and an old pair of lights without the lenses polished:
I've sold quite a few sets too. I also offer custom colors. (I make a set in gun metal for LPE403's show car). These are not cheap, but they REALLY look amazing.
