Hi, I'm looking for a shorter antenna that will look like it fits the car as well as gets good reception. I cant find one anywhere. Please give your opinion.
Thanks.

Put your antenna in a vice. Hold a pair of pliers tight or a pair of vice grips underneath the ball at the top of the antenna, and tap it with a hammer to get the ball off. Make sure you do it in a clean area and watch cause the ball might go flying.
Rest the antenna down flat and take a tape measure and measure the length of the antenna. Decide how much you want to cut it, cut it at an exact fraction of it's total length ( 1/2 , 1/3, etc ) Measure out that amount, put a piece of tape or mark where you need to cut. I think I used a sawzall to cut through mine quickly lol. After that glue or hammer the ball back on tight, and spray over any scratched areas with gloss black.
Here's one from my last Camaro.

If you want something besides a shortened stock antenna, PM Bitviper, he makes custom shorty antennas for our cars. His widen out at the base to fit cleaner. With just about any short antenna, the reception won't be as good as the stock one, but I still have decent reception with Bitviper's. I don't have a close up of mine handy, but here's what it looks like in a full shot.

I just cut my stock one in half. Couldn't get the ball off so I just dipped the end in an enamel paint and hung it upside down to dry. The little drip of paint hardened and gave it a slight rounded look on the end.
Reception sucks but that isn't the antenna's fault (I tested before/after, no difference). My head unit's FM tuner is really crappy for some reason. Bugs me as the cheaper units I've had previously from Pioneer all had really good FM tuners, but this one is pretty bad.

love the look of my cheapo ebay antenna, just look up something like "carbon shorty antenna". pm me for more info if needed. unfortunately, I had an aftermaket antenna on the car before, so I can't say how well the reception is vs factory.

I ordered one off of one of our sponsors sites, I forget which one off-hand. It looked great, but the only down side is that the stock radio didn't "Seek" all of the stations that the other antenna could. So you just end up going through the frequencies on the radio rather than the steering controls... I feel that was the worst thing about it, it's not the end of the world but it does get somewhat annoying lol
