Default One tail light appears darker than the other

I have a 98 Trans Am- one of the tail lights looks darker than the other one. It bothers the hell out of me when I see it. It almost looks like it's tinted, but I'm pretty sure it's not. Anyone ever run into this? Trying to figure out what caused it and how I can fix it... if it can be fixed.

Damn, there is no oven at my buddy's garage. I am in the process of putting a new motor in but I wanted to take care of this light while the car is down. Guess I'll have to take it home with me or something. Glad I found the solution though, thanks man.

I don't see why a heat gun wouldn't work. Just be careful! When I took apart my headlights to do the whistler mod I used a hair dryer....worked like a charm.

No worries man. My drivers side tail light makes me nuts everytime I look at it. I need to get around to doing this, and myself have wondered if a heat gun, and some patience, would work. I'll give it a try next week and get back to you.

What motor you installing?

I used a heat gun just be careful you don't melt the housing. I've heard of people warping the entire housing doing the oven method of but I imagine it's easier to separate the prices if it works
