Black SS new MAACO paintjob
Hey everyone I really wish I had some "before" pictures, I think I do but I'll have to search through my old laptop. The old paint was really faded on the spoiler and hood. I had some minor scratches/dents here. Took it to Maaco to get their $800 paintjob but got it marked down half off and that included body work, payed a total of $470 and so far I have no regrets with the finished product. This is the single stage enamel + uv protection w/ 2 years warranty. Anyone have any advice on keeping the black this clean? Like what products you guys would suggest? I heard of using conditioner type car wash and a wool mitt? I dont know, any suggestions would help.

They had their $1000 paintjob half off last week after I did my paintjob lol but it didn't include body work so I probably would've paid $700 if I went that route

I don't have a black car but everyone else in my family does haha. Zymol, Ultimate quick detailer, Adams Products, Turtle Ice... It depends on the black too. Some work better for jet black and metallic black and such....it really does make a difference

That thing looks wonderful! Beautiful glossy black :-)
This is just me personally, but I usually clay bar once a year and a couple times a year I use a paint cleaner product like Meguiar's or Zaino, then a paint polish product, then a wax. Intermittently I used a swirl/scratch reducer & a combo of wax/detail spray after washes. That has kept my paint glassy feeling & shiny like a mirror after 10 years.

Damn, makes me consider going the Macco route, mine is in BAD need of paint & I just can't afford the $2500-3k quotes I have gotten at other body shops. I might have to give a local Macco a call & see what it would cost going through them. If it's cheap enough I might just go ahead & do it to get me by until I can afford a really good paint job.

I'm in the Houston area and was wondering how the Maaco paint jobs were locally? OP your car looks great from the pic, but whats the catch, that is if there is one???
Like stated above I've been quoted anywhere from 2-3,000 for repaint and thats not including in the engine bay or body work.

Are you moving here to cali? There's a Maaco shop in Fremont near the San Francisco area that I heard does a great job for their price, there's even about 24 reviews on yelp that gave them 5 stars.

+1 for some more pics. I've got scratches on front down low and someone keyed my car down the passenger side years ago. I buffed most of it out but couldn't get all of it. Rest of the car is fine. Just looking for good paint job not show quality or anything.
No I'm not moving to Cali anytime soon.

Hell yea, I have already lost all the clear off my hood, headlight covers are chipped to primer, quarters are starting to loose the clear & the sail panel not only lost the clear but the base is peeling off in chunks. No bubbles from adhesive though, just bad paint.
