Default Time to wax new paint job, what wax?

The Camaro has been painted since April now so I guess its time to wax it. What's the best wax for new paint? I definitely wanna avoid swirls so am I better off hand waxing or using an orbital buffer?

cheap orbital buffers are a waste of money and time.

Get yourself some Blackfire Wet Diamond and some good 100ppi foam applicators and go to town.

FYI, swirls come from bad washing and drying, so invest in quality towels and wash mitt. Don't wipe the car down between washes.

I use Collinite wax it's much cheaper and longer lasting than wet diamond.

True, but doesn't look as good, not as easy to apply and remove either.

Boils down to what you want.

I have no problem applying and removing Collonite. I'd rather have longer lasting protection than a shine that doesn't last. If you have to apply the wet diamond more often that's more work in long run.

I don't struggle to remove Collonite, but BFWD wipes off effortlessly, few products are on par with that. As far as not lasting....every product has a life expectancy. Be aware of that and factor it into your choice of product. But BFWD has a decent life and with the ease of application and removal, re-app is a piece of cake.

I'm partial to coatings myself.... Opti-Coat Pro and CQuartz Finest.

I 100% back BFWD. I am all for experimenting with different products until I find a product that perfect to me, and BF to me is perfection. Like Jeff said, it is completely stupid easy to apply and remove and looks phenomenal. So for me, who cares about what else is on the market.

Myself personally, I sealed my SS and dd with opti-coat after correcting. I work on to many other people cars and I don't cause any swirls washing my car, so the coating works for me. First car I used opti on was about 1.5 years ago, to this day it still beads water like the day it was done.

So should opti coating not be used if you will get swirls?

BFWD is fine. I prefer Zanio Z2 for a sealant though. One 8oz bottle will last forever on one car. $20 and you get 18-24 applications. Each application will last an easy 6-9 months on a daily driven car. It's as easy to apply and take off as BFWD, maybe easier. I love the smell too.

I personally use Cquartz Finest on my TA. Zaino on my daily

Best to remove them first or they will be locked in permanently underneath.
