Can you switch leather seat covers from one side to the other?
Ok, I have what may be a stupid idea but I figured ask anyway. The drivers side seat on my Trans Am is starting to show a little wear and my passenger side seat looks like new. Would it be possible to take the seat covers off and switch them from side to side? My drivers seat still looks good but I have a feeling that it will go down hill fast, by switching the covers I'll be good for another 120K.

I wanna say the seat covers are setup to be universal to either side of the car but it's been MONTHS since I had the seats out and looked that closely at them so don't quote me on it.

I guess I'll have to take a close look at the head rest, I don't think there is any real wear showing on the head rest so it wouldn't be noticeable if I left them on the same side and just switched everything else.

You mite also have the little flipper thing to tilt the back forward i know the camaro's have them on the side of the back closest to the door not the console side there is a slit in the back of the seat bottom corner.

I finally got around to doing this and it came out great. You end up with 2 holes from where the reclining mechanism bolted to the lower part of the seat. I covered then with some push in panel clips even though you'll never see them, they'll be hidden by the center console. Considering it only cost me a couple afternoons of free time I'd say this is a great way nearly double the life of my seats.

No problem, I switched the seat foam along with the covers also. I just hope 6LE is still selling custom leather seat covers 15yrs from now when they start getting worn out again.
