If you can chrome it, I think that would look best. Dunno about the whole heat issue though...

Chrome will hold heat more also. My vote is for paint.

Ok I pulled the intake off tonight. I have decided to paint it gloss black. The thing that i have purchashed are cleaner, promotor (for it to better adhere to the plastic), primer filler, 600 grit sand paper, gloss black. The guy at the paint store said not to put any clear on it so i didn't buy any.

Here are my steps correct me if I should be doing something extra.

1. Pre sand (with what grit? and am I just trying to get rid of the the circles on top of the intake and smooth it down some before primer?????
2. Clean with cleaner from the can
3. Promotor
4. Primer 2 to 3 coats
5. Sand 600 grit
6. clean again
7. Gloss black 2 to 3 coats
8. Allow 1 week dring time

I guess my 2 biggest concerns is #1 and really worry about heat I did not buy heat paint should i be worried??????????. I plan on starting tommorrow so if I could get any help from Ls1 tech that would help me a lot

Thanks in advance

Don't worry about the heat, how many times have you touched the intake after driving the car? Looks like you got all the steps, I would have gone with some clear coats to finish it though.
