NBM Engine Bay - Opinions Needed....
Finally getting around to the engine bay - I'm thinking of getting a lot of the pieces (FRCs,Battery Cover,Lid) painted NBM to match the outside of the car, but I noticed the navy blue INSIDE the engine bay is a little different. Should I go silver or black to avoid having 2 diff blues under the hood?
Here's what I'm talking about - the battery cover is true NBM, the bay clearly is not the same color....

I have the 2 different color blues. I think it looks good. Will be hard to find everything you need that is exactly nbm. My fuel rail covers and intake are painted nbm. Some of the pieces I have got from mba are a lighter blue. And some chrome and polishing never looks bad. I haven't gotten any updated new pics yet. Working 84 hour weeks makes me lazy.

Yes, it's a different blue. You might try contacting a Chevy dealer and see if they can look up the code for you. Personally, I'd go with a different color, to liven things up.

I didn't see one listed in your mods and don't know if you ever plan on getting one but just figured I would mention it since your working on the engine compartment.
if you buy a strut tower brace be aware that BMR's idea of Navy Blue is different than both colors, way different-lol. I didn't expect it to match perfectly but I have to say I was a bit dissapointed. If you would like pictures let me know.
If you want a matching stb the best thing to do would be to get it powdercoated yourself.

i say black or silver. black would be much more subtle, and clean up the bay alot. if you want something that stands out a little more go with silver, or even some polished pieces.

Hey guys. I'm a long time lurker, just got around to registering. I painted most of the stuff in my engine bay the same colour as the car. I got lucky and found a "near match" paint called Black Saphire that is exactly the same colour as the NBM. The silver on the front brackets is Eastwoods hot coat powder coat. The colour is called reflective chrome but its more like metallic silver than chrome. Nice car. Hope this helps a bit.

I got it at Canadian Tire here. I dont know where you would get it in the states. It was a lot of trial and error. I'd buy a couple cans, see what the colour looked like and return them if they were wrong. I lucked out with the black saphire. I was about to give up. I bought a custom mixed paint from a shop and it wouldnt stick to plastic. Had to paint and prep my FRC 4 times! If you going to use clear use Duplicolor's high temp clear. It looks better and sands smoother than anything else I tried.
