Opinions/Comments Please?
Hi Guys....
Over the last few months we have recieved numerous requests for a 3" smooth cowl induction style hood for the Camaros....Because of this, we have been kicking around some ideas for this type of hood and would like to see what everyone thought of it....The pictures are attached...please keep in mind that the hood scoop is not permanently mounted onto the hood at this time - it is only set in place.
We recieved some great comments and ideas in the past when designing our other Camaro & T/A hoods - and we would like them again.....
Thanks!
Jeanie

Looks like it's a bit too wide for my tastes. The sides set up a bit too tall also. I don't know, maybe 3" is just too tall for my tastes. It also doesn't look that smooth to me, still looks rather boxy. I really don't like it at all . Maybe the finished product will look better after it's molded onto the hood?

I think it needs to flow better. As stated above, if the cowl blended better it would look nice.
Need a test car for this?
I did find a paint shop near me that is reasonable. Just trying to figure out what hood to get. I like the 2" cowl and the pictures of the new one so far. Tough call.

Overall height looks like it'd be pretty dead on, but im w/ everyone else that it needs to be more streamlined to the lines which is kinda hard for the Camaro. But overall, its great to see some that vendors are using the site for their advantage.

Thanks guys - we appreciate all the comments
The scoop is not permanently mounted to the hood at this point, that's why it looks so straight on the sides, but once mounted we could definately add more of a rake to the sides and roll the bottom edge so it flows into the hood.
We have been working on a hood for a grand prix with a scoop that is very similar in style...I have attached the pictures to this....the scoop on the grand prix hood should give an idea of how the sides would flow onto the hood once finished - but minus the ram air scoops....also, we were kicking around an idea for a ram air hood for the camaros....let us know what you think. Please keep in mind again that these are not the finished product - only photoshop images.....
We will probably start out with these hoods on the 98-02 camaros first and then move onto the 93-97.....

Steve ~ thanks for the offer! I am unsure at this point if we will need one, but if we do we can definately let you know - although, it maybe a ride for you, as we are located up by Chicago...
Thanks again Everyone!

Sure,we do carbon fiber - mostly in a weight savings version - which would come in a black gelcoat finish and would need to be painted...
On some items we can make the "cosmetic style" version - which would be clear coated to where you can see the carbon weave.....on this particular hood, we would need to measure it once finished to see if we could make this style cf hood.

Now its going to be a toss up between this and the 3" SS hood.

I think it kicks up a bit too much in the back in the first set of pics. I think it's a touch too wide in the first set of pics. I think it's going in the right direction. Want to sell me that red car as a roller?

Thanks guys - these are great suggestions and I am passing them on to our production dept....
Hey John,
would you have a chance to stop by and check the hood out and give your opinion? The hood is hard to take the right angle for the pictures and we're not sure if it gives people the right impression....maybe then you can talk frank into selling you the red camaro too...
