Default HELP! Inside of cracked fiberglass hood exposed to elements!

I got in an accident today, someone slammed on their breaks right when everyone started going at a green light, anyways, my fiberglass hood got banged up in front and the net-looking fiber stuff inside is exposed. I was told this will take on water and become ruined-is this true? Its very humid here and may rain anytime. What can I do to protect the fiberglass for the time being?

Thanks alot!

Well a little bit of water shouldn't do any harm... but you'll probably have to get it repaired/re-painted, so why not tape it off really good?

if the fiberglass is cracked and fraying.. water isn't your only problem with the hood being ruined...

It should be repaired asap. Send me some pics of the damage and I can give you some pointers on how to repair it yourself. It is not very expensive, just need to be patient. Send pics to ls1rods@sbcglobal.net

Thanks for the tip tudds. This will be a temporary fix for the next six months until I can get it professionally redone. I just wanted to protect the hood until then.thanks again!
