I'd like to replace the existing sideview mirror glass with glass etched with "Objects in mirror are Vipers", to go along with the whole V-10 Killer thing

I would just buy some small decals at hobby lobby or something. I've been wanting to do that for a while but mine will have mustangs in place of vipers. someday it will say vipers though.

an interesting idea... i like it. though i'd leave the domestics alone and have mine say "ricers" instead. not that i like mustangs or vipers, i just hate ricers more.

V-10 killer we think alike. I have been wanting the same thing for a while. Mine will say Mustangs though. I have the laser cut stickers on my driver side side mirror and the rear view mirror in the car that say (Objects In Mirror Are Losing). I hate to put one on the pass. side since it is etched with the factory bullshit. All that will show behind the sticker. If you ever find someone to do this please let me know, and I will do the same.

Maybe you could pull your mirrors and take it to a trophy shop and have them etch it. I think it could be done. Correct me if I'm wrong. Cool idea man.

The trophy shop is a good idea. So since the factory mirrors and already etched they must be removed, so where can I get some mirrors cut to fit my camaro?

Any Glass shop should be able to cut new ones.

The problem you're forgetting is that the passenger side mirror is convex. That's exactly why is says "objects may blah blah blah..." because the curve of the mirror moves the focal point and the objects appear smaller, which your brain correlates to further away.

I doubt a glass shop will be able to replicate that exact curvature.

get a replacement mirror and have it laser etched, depending on where you are CO2 lasers are not that uncommon anymore. This would be my solution anyway, but then again i am a laser technician. We used to do custom jobs on mirrors and coffee mugs and stuff at school. charged a few bucks and used the schools equipment. lol
We did sappy poems on picture frames from the dolar store, made great mothers day presents.

I have seen frosted glass also. A negative stencil is used and the glass is sand blasted. There are also acid glass etching kits. You may find one at a craft store....
