Thumbs up SAMCO Silicone Hose Kits for LS1 F/B, T/A, Camaro, Vette Still Available Here

I have been looking for a vendor that sells a Silicone Hose Kit for my LS1 F-Bod for quite some time now. There are currently no U.S. companies that market a kit for our cars out of the MANY silicone hose mfg. I contacted (they would make one however, for a $2000 tooling charge!).

I finally got in touch with Samco in the UK and they DO still mfg. a kit for the LS1 Firebird/TransAm/Camaro and another for the Corvette.

The U.S. dealer for Samco is as follows:

Forge Motorsport
6536 Pinecastle Blvd.
Suite C
Orlando, FL. 32809

Contact Mike Lombardi
US Sales & Marketing Director
PH: 407-447-5363
Fax: 407-447-5361
email: Mike@Forgemotorsport.com
Forgemotorsport.com

The F-Body kit is P/N TCS158/C and is available in std. colors of Blue, Black, or Red (other colors are available custom, allthough payment is req'd in advance for custom colors) Std. colors will not be billed to your card until shipped. Since these hoses are not stocked by Samco, the wait is 4-6 weeks (which I understand is half the time it used to take).

Kit cost is $146.92 + $10 shipping and includes either 4 or 5 hoses:

Upper Rad Hose
Lower Rad Hose
Rad Overflow Hose
Rad to TB Coolant Hose

I don't have any info on the vette kit but a simple call & Mike would let you know all the info.

As you know, silicone hoses will outlast the car and are a great accent for that 'show engine'!

Just thought I'd pass this info along to fellow members - I don't think this is breaking any forum rules as there are no sponsors (or anyone else but Forge for that matter) that carry these hoses in either kit form or custom.

Happy Holidays

I have this kit. I got it from a dealer in CA. www.sporthoses.com, something along those lines? I've had it for probably 6 months..they are still sitting in my room.

When I ordered the kit, I didn't realize that they had changed the cooling system in our cars at all. I'm not sure when they added it (01-02?) but they put that metal tube behind the fan with two lines coming off of it. Heh, power steering cooler...

So I've got the 4 piece kit, but instead of having two separate pieces for each side of the tube, I've got one solid hose. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to make it work yet, but they are some nice hoses

Just be aware of this if you're ordering it for a newer F-body.

Lingenfelter sells the kit for the vettes. I'm not sure if it's on his site, but he does have the kits.

Funny, when I called SportHoses - they stated they had nothing available? The kit I ordered is either 4 or 5 pc. Mike did state that he didn't know if the Top Rad Hose was in (2) pcs. or not to accept the PS cooler option - but I am assuming that if it is just one long hose, that it should be no problem to cut off as much of the end that I need after matching to factory hoses, and install that way.

In any event, Mike also stated that as long as I didn't cut any of the hoses - if they didn't fit, or I don't like them for any reason, he would take them back & refund my $$.

The only reason I can think of, is that they don't list a Pontiac specific kit. I just ordered the Camaro kit. They even show the kit online, for both the Corvette and Camaro under the Chevrolet section.

Another thing I forgot to mention, was that my order took about 3 months to complete. I'm guessing that these kits are made to order, so it took forever. I had even forgot that I ordered it, and ended up calling the number that popped up on my debit card. They shipped it to me for free, I just haven't had the time to throw them on the car. I've got 4 or 5 gallons of evan's non aqeous coolant to put in the car as well...

I checked their site out again and found them. These are the hoses from the same mfg. - Samco. They are in the U.K. Reason for the long wait is they do not stock any of their hose kits - they custom make them upon order.

Mike did state that they have improved their production process & hired on more personnel so the wait time is down to 4-6 weeks now.

How many pc. kit did you get & was the top Rad Hose in one long pc? I'm assuming that it is, and that I will have to cut out the center section to work with my PS Cooler option?

Forge Motorsports is a great comapny to deal with, I dyno tested a turbo inlet hose by them, (Samco) the quality was top notch. Unfortunately I do not believe there is any benefit on our cars other than good looks, that and possibly a hose blowing out and leaving us stranded.

They do have Red - that's what I bought. And yes, they are also for looks - that's why I bought them as my car is for shows - added benefit is they are way more durable than regular hose-you will prolly never need to replace them...
