SS hoods on non SS cars?
I was wondering how everyone felt about having SS hoods and SS spoilers on Z28 cars. I own a 2000 Z28 and have been looking for a different hood and a spoiler for some time now and I keep going back to the SS styles. I just think they give the camaro that agressive look, but without going overboard. I just wasn't sure if I should go ahead and buy them or not, because of how it might be percieved. Are there many Z28 camaro's driving around with SS hoods and spoilers? Thanks for any feed back!

well, first of all it is your car, so if you like it, do it! There are a TON of Z28s out there with SS hoods and spoilers.
People won't really rag on you unless you put the "SS" emblems all over the car. It bugs me when people make "fake" SS cars and such and claim they are the real thing. My fiance' has a perfectly cloned WS6 (wheels and hood) but we didn't put any WS6 emblem on it. That would have been over the line.

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with it. If some people think so, then they are just shallow and narrow minded. I have the SS spoiler, and would highly consider putting the hood on, too. I am actually looking at the z-style hood, though, so I'm not really serious about the SS hood. I feel that as long as you don't put the badges on, you're fine. It's your money, so buy what makes you happy.

If anything I would take my Z28 badges off, if I got the SS hood and spoiler. You can barely see them anyway(black car). I just have came to a point where I would like to change the look of my car, body, exhaust, rims. Nothing to flashy though. Or sell it and get something else. Just got to do some research before I make up my mind for sure. I appreciate the insight, Thanks!

I have both on my 01 Z along with retro badges, I added a bit of the GMMG look with the rear tail panel, GMMG, Tom Henry TH wheels, ZL-1 grille, and stripe package.
Keep the SS badges off and you will be fine.

Like posted above it's your car, **** what anyone else says. Even if you want to put the SS emblems on it that's OK as long as you don't try to rip someone off and try to sell it as a factory SS if you should decide to sell it.
I have an SS spoiler and will be adding the SS hood in the future and will add the SS emblems at that time, if anyone has a problem with that they can form a long line and get ready to kiss my ***!
Just mod the car the way you want and enjoy it.

If someone is tricked into buying a "fake SS" then they deserve it. That's what VIN numbers, window stickers, rpo stickers, option codes, dealer invoices, and the internet are for. This isn't the 1960's.
Sorry, but that's another topic altogether. I don't see anything wrong with modding the car the way you like it. Sometimes I wish my car was a Z so I could get those badass retro badges like 01pewter2001z28. That is a badass car!

I say do what you want, if you want to badge it like an SS go for it, its weird nobody gives the cloned SS chevelles or nova's a hard time about the bading, just dont try to sell it as one. Personally i think the SS spoiler and hood looks the best on camaros, its very aggressive but still civilized.
