Default what route to go to get the berger tail panel look?

http://www.gmmginc.net/html/cars/berger/photo5_pop.html

It looks like its painted w/o a clear coat. Is that why it isnt glossy?

WOuld this be the route i should want to go to achieve that look with this type of semi-gloss, satin black paint?

Actually that was one of my questions, I'm going to be painting my tail this weekend with teh satin black. My question was do I use any clear coat on top of the satin black or just prime it and then satin black and done..

Thanks...

In my research, the correct thing to do is sand it, prime it, then paint it in satin black with no clear coat.

Unless you have any repaired spots like scratches, chips, ect. you dont need any primer. Primer is for filling purpose only, just sand the panel clean it and paint it.

You can use scotch brite and commet house hold cleaner to scuff in the recessed lettering. The Commet makes a great blend prep and will clean/degrease the panel while you work.

Ok one last question on the berger setup. I've got a coat of primer on my panel, should I wetsand the primer after every coat or just put my coats on and then wetsand it before the final coating of black?

Thanks...

hey well i have a different situation than most you guys...........i want to pain the "berger" panel white instead of the popular black!! My reason for this is because my car is Hugger w/ white ZR1's.......and i would like it to match!! Do you guys suggest a clear coat if i go this route?? Opinions welcome.....thanks!!
