SLP bowtie grille installation
I just received my SLP bowtie grille and noticed that the instructions ask for drilling into the facia of the vehicle. I had always thought this grille used 3M double sided tape to stay on. What is the deal? How much will it cost a body shop to do this?

i went ahead and drilled the holes so if i ever wanted to remove it i could do it easily.
Just place the grille where you want it. Hold it in place and have someone mark the holes with a skinny pencil. Then just drill out the holes with the drill bit size that the instructions tell you to use. Pretty easy.

I was a little hesitant to drill into my front facia too - but decided to just go ahead and do it. Glad I did - the grille looks great. See pictures below on my SS:
I just held the grille up and marked the holes to be drilled with a small marker - drilled holes and then installed the grille with the fasteners. Pretty straight forward. From what I remember, I don't think the grille would be very secure if you used tape - because of the grille's shape, but I could be mistaken.
The biggest pain I remember was removing the stock grille - I believe I had to remove the whole front facia - there are nuts threaded into the stock grille from the back side and because of the shape of the bumper foam reinforcement - you can't just sneak up in there with a wrench - whole facia had to come out - that was a surprise to me.
Good luck.
