Default Front License Plate, Need ideas .

I have a 1999 30th Aniv. Trans-Am.
It seems whenever I am out at a cruise night or on the way to a car show I get hit from the cops about my "no front license plate" . I will never fix the license plate to my car as I think it looks like $#*@..

Does anyone have any ideas or some method of a quick on off method?
I am trying to figure out a way that allows me to quickly put the plate on , pass the cops and then take it off once parked at a show, etc, etc...

Hope someone can help .
These cops know there are a bunch of show cars at these shows and stuff .
"Why is everybody always picking on me" LOL

keep your plate under your floor mat.. and when you pull up to a roadblock or you see a bunch of cops quickly throw the plate on your dash.

So is that legal ? Will a cop with an attitude give me crap? I have seen people do this. If it is easy as that then cool deal !

I have mine mounted to the front air dam and haven't had a problem yet (knock on wood)... I've also seen people place them in the corner of the front windshield so they can be easily removed during shows or cruises.

Another option that some Hot Rodders use is a motorized license plate mount that flips your plate up and under the bumper when it is not needed, then back down when you are cruising. I think they can even be wired to the ignition switch so they flip down automatically when the key is in the RUN position.

Carry a T-15 torx screwdriver with you and leave the license plate under the front plate cover. Take the cover off on the way to the show, put it on when you get there (2 screws) and be done with it.

All good ideas, FBDYLVR , that also may work. I never really took that front cover off, is it held in with a few torx screws? I will have to look into that.

Its held in by two T-15 torx screws, on the bottom of the cover. There should be holes for the plate under like this.

Then just pop the cover on when you get to the show...

Easy isn't it?

Yeah, I had Vixen T/A send me a pic of her clear cover, and it just doesn't look good.

Agreed, does not look good.
I have the T/A bird on the front of my cover and as many people have done
I applied a decal to it to match my car . I have a 30th Aniv T/A so I have a blue color scheme to match my racing stripes.. It really looks good and I do not want to loose this look as I get many compliments on it. I will most likely go with the idea of carrying a Torx in the glove comp. and taking the cover off/on .. Or just stick the puppy on the dash to keep the cops happy.

Still many great ideas here , and its nice to see what others are doing even if I do not like it myself. Thanks all again .

I don't live in the land of front license plates, but I like this idea a lot. If I lived in a state that required a front plate, this is what I'd do.

In NY, you get a ticket even if it's in your windsheild. "Improper license plate mounting" or something like that. A friend just got one.

File for a lost license plate. They give you a paper saying you are now legal. Go back in 6months and file again. Problem solved.
