Default Cleaned the CME Tips today *Pics*

Well I went up to advanced auto parts today and got some mothers aluminum polish and polished up the tips a little bit, I think they look great!

The one on the left is after and the one on the right is before

Looks good, your car looks really nice. I have always liked the way the center mount looks on nbm.

Thanks, yeah I waxed the car last monday with meguiars NXT Tech Wax. I like that wax a lot it gives the car a nice deep shine and it is pretty easy to take off. The car been sitting in the garage under the car cover since then because I was away on vacation Ill try to take some pictures of it sometime...

If you could get some more pictures up that would be cool. I have thought about trying some of that tech wax. Since seeing how damn shinny your car is, I will give it a try.

I'll throw in my opinion... NX wax is great for the price! I use it on my SS as well as my black GTP.

The tips look great man! Cant wait to get my car back from EPP with my new CME mounted up! Woot!

Thats what I was thinking.

Has anyone tried painting them black? I wonder if that would look good.

When I had my new true duals fabbed to my CME tips, I painted everything but the outter lip black. I think it looks great...I'd never want to paint the lips though. For some reason on my car, even without cats, the tips rarely if ever get dirty.

Oh, and in that pic, they were dirty...hadn't been cleaned in over a week, and I daily drive the car (it is my only car).

To the original poster, you use the same stuff to clean yours that I use on mine. Makes them much easier to keep clean IMO!

Yeah...I'm a bit on the **** retentive side with that. I quickly discovered that it is much easier to keep my car clean when I wash it every week.

I'm gonna have to try that Mother's Aluminum Polish. Even with the cutout open enough exhaust gets out through the CME to really make it look bad

I love the CME. My looks like sh_t. The exhaust has baked into the aluminum and made it very smooth and impossible to clean. Previous owner never touched them.

Has anyone had any luck sanding them? What grit?
