Default Front Signal Lenses Tough?

This might be a stupid question. Is it supposed to be hard to replace the front turn signal lenses on my 2000 SS? I tried to replace them a while ago and still want to put them on but I had a hell of a time trying to get the old ones out. So I gave up. Is there a trick to doing it? It almost seemed like the bumper had to come off so there was enough room to get them out.

Default How in the world do u remove Turn Signal's?

I just tried to remove my turn signals on my 2000 z28 convertible and after unscrewing them, I can't get them out of there! What in the world were they thinking when designing this area?? I could remove the corner lights on my 95 camaro easily, I don't know why I can't get them out on the 2000.

Can anyone help out??

they'll come out, you just have to pull the outter end up over the joint where the two panels *bumper and fender* meet and it will come out. They're definately in there for sure. The new ones go in a lot easier. Here's some advise though. Go get some clear RTV or silicon sealant or something. Lightly coat all around the lense/housing before you put it in and let it dry. They wont leak after that, otherwise i'd say there's about a 90% chance they will.

I hear pulling the headlights, and doing it from the top is the easiest way.

Definitely put some RTV around the lense. I didn't and mine have a constant haze of water on the inside. I had hell getting mine out also. I too took out the headlights and had trouble still. I had to bend the plastic plate that they rest on. It took some time but it finally went in. Just be patient.

Do anyone else's headlights sit funny after reinstalling them? Mine are messed up as hell now. They don't sit flush with the front bumper now. There is like 1/4" crack that water gets down into... blew my new bulbs within 3 days

I was trying to be patient for an hour of trying it. I was almost breaking them trying to get them out. I might try one more time in the Spring. I'm not so sure I want to take out the headlights. Are they easy enough to take out?

dude, it was hard enough for me and i took the headlights out. i'd think it would be next to impossible w/o them out. it's only a few more bolts.

I did the clear corner swap on my 02 RS. Did the driver side from the bottom and then took out the headlight when I did the passenger side. Much easier with the headlight out. I found it easier using one arm to pull the lense out and the other to kind of pry and bend the bumper a little bit from the outside.
