Default How did you polish your lights?

I'm going to polish up my 3rd brake light. What grit paper should I use and finish up with?

When I did my lights, I finished up with 600 wet all the way down to 1200 wet. Then buffed to a glass like finish. I did all the plastic lights, front corners, rear side markers and tail lenses. I sanded off all the casting marks, and raised text.

Why do you polish your lights?

Cool thanks. I want to get rid of the casting marks and the raised letters too. Thats the main for reason for doing it. I guess I'll get started when I get home today

If someone had before and after photos that would be great, or just after photos I guess would work too!

Any particular rubbing compounds or polish? What brand and type did you use. I really need to do this also. Thanks.
