Default Removing haze

I had some scrathces in my car so I used 3M Medium Cut Rubbung compound. IT took most of the scrathes out, but now I have some hazing.

What do you recommend to continue on and then build up a deep shine...at least as deep as you can on a white car.

I'm waiting for my Porter Cable polisher to finnish up the job.

Don't all jump in at once!!

I called the Mequiars tech line and they suggest the Meguiars #83 and then wax with Mequairs NXT Generation Tech Wax...maybe a top off with #34.

This was based on only having the Porter Cable 7424 and not a Dewalt 849 to use something like #4

...any thoughts????

I had to order the #83 online so it'll be about a week until I can test it out.

I used 3M medium cut and it helped, you saying the Finesse it will work well with the 7424 at removing haze and bringing back the depth?

Well I just ordered a bottle from Amazon. When I'm done I'll be able to do some side by side comparos on 3M Finesse it vs Meguiars #83 using the Porter Cable 7424.

I'd like a Dewalt 849, but I'd the more agressive rotary action might just get me troouble

nope id go 83 or 80. Thats why you are supposed to use the 3m products with a rotory cause then you wont get that hazing. Just get some DACP or SG and it should bring out the depth for you. If you dont want to wait and order that online or at a PBE store the Meguiars7 or 9 should help a bit.

www.autotopia.org is a very good place to read and learn about auto detailing. If you haven't ever been to that site I would recomend you go there and do as much reading as possible before the PC shows up.

Sounds like you need to polish the car. The PC will help a lot with this. If you can't wait for the PC I would try the #83 by hand and see what you can do. You will need to rub for a while to bring back a high gloss finish. Have fun.

Thanks, I've looked at that site and it does have lots of answers...lots and lots

The car is in good sgape, I'm just trying to get the deepest wetest look I can out of white and cover up some small scratches here and there. Nothing major, a few cats slipping off the Zaino and the normal micro scratches from towels and dirt. I did put some scratches in the hood from a contaminated bonnet, but they're not that noticable.

What do you mean by PC?

Ohhh..I thought it was the other PC.

I have the PC 7424. It works great, but won't cut like rotating wheel on say a Dewalt 849.

If you used med cut 3m I'd go over it with the 3m fine cut. Then like screamin94z said get the Finesse it.Ive used 3m for over 10 years and thats what I'd do.
They must of been some serious scratched to use med cut.I'd never use more than fine cut.If it was to bad for fine cut i'd wet sand it with 1200 to 1600 grit paper.

you really wont get any depth on white IMHO. You will get more reflections than anything.

Yeah, the beauty of white is it never looks terrible, but it will never get the depth of a dark car. You can tell the difference between clean and highly polished though.

What can I say, I'm in this forum so I'm kind of **** about the finish.

That made me think you didn't have your PC yet. Sorry for the mix-up. If it were me I would try some 3M fine cut. Then polish and apply the LSP.
