Default Advise: Looking for the front and rear clear markers with good quality.

Hey all:

I just need some input please.

I am looking for the front and rear clear markers and want a good quality set. I dont want cheap that wont last or will break easy. I see they sell them on ebay from $15.00 a set up to $40.00 a set.

I just want some in-put on where to get them and good quality.

Also are they easy to install and any bad things you have to say about them.

Thanks

I got all mine from ProCarParts on Ebay.
Rear clear side markers are still perfect.
Front clear corners lasted 18 months.
And really, if a semi truck tires hadn't gashed a whole in the passenger one, they would've been good for another year easy.
...I just replaced those with a set of the smoked clears off Ebay.

i got mine from ebay as well, i forgot which vendor. I just made sure to seal around the seam with clear silicone, may not have been necessary, just a precaution.

I also see they make them in a diamond cut and either chrome or black backing. I am looking to get some in the next day or two but want good quality.

Also did you use the bulbs that came with them or go with another type bulb.

Also I went to afterthoughts and they are out of stock on the front one's for 6-8 weeks.

I have had so many different bulbs in my front clear corners, I could've lit up a small town by now.

Anyway, from my experience... DO NOT use LED bulbs.
Yeah, the cool factor is there, but you just can't see them at all.
When you're trying to turn, and other cars can't see you're blinker flashing... yeah, it's bad. A really close call was enough for me to go back to regular bulbs.

For the 3157 bulbs (turn signals/DRLs), I'm running Silvania Silverstars. They look blueish-chrome but they illuminate amber.
For the 194 bulbs (marking lights), I'm running whatever the amber bulbs were that came with my ProCarParts lenses.

I got mine from eBay as well....over a year now, and no problems. The seller was either revotec or makotoautotrends....I can't remember which one.

Hey OctaneZ28, do the Silverstar turn signal bulbs light up a pure amber? Or is it kind of blue-ish still?

Thumbs up

The Silverstars are pimp. Makes your light have a blue-ish look when off, but bright amber when flashing.

I've had my Afterthoughs Auto ones for a few years now. Great quality, I've never had any fogging or water issues with them (car sits outside year round too). It is a good idea to run some silcone around the seam with any brand though.

The ones from ebay are fine. If you put some clear RTV sealant where the lens and the housing come together they will not leak (at least not for me).

Yeah as stated above by FloridaZ, they light up pure amber.
Really nice bulbs, I'm pleased with them.
Kinda expensive, so I hope they last!

The Ebay seller I got my new smoked clears from is 4caroption.
