how about using the billet grill and then making a "hang on" license plate thing (to hang on the grill)....that way it's only on when you NEED it and off the rest of the time......(just an idea)

Depends on the type of grille you get. If you get a billet grille you can zip-tie the plate to it. You could also attach the plate to the air dam under the front bumper. I just don't run one and haven't had any problems yet.

I modified an SLP bracket. I also cut the plate down a bit and built a custom frame. Also, the entire bracket assembly is held on from the bottom with 3 wingnuts for quick removal.

Still Looks better this way but costs $75 if you get caught.

if i had to run one...
i either a: wouldnt run it and chance it, or b: trim the plate and put it on the air dam.

throw it around a bit, step on it, bash it up and keep it in the car w. you and if you get pulled over show the cop and say it fell off and you were in the way to buy stuff to mount it back....

you should just hang the plate on your lower air dam, the one that is under the car. if you hang it on there you cant get busted for not havign it displayed. thats what id do. alot of the muscle cars out here do it that way.

There are legal issues with putting your plates on the air dam under the car for sure. Yes, its there, but not very visable. The laws state the plate has to be displayed in a "highly visable area such as the front bumper." I like the idea, but its a matter of time before more people do this, and someone will get a ticket for sure. For those who get away with it, you are lucky.

I'm sure it's illegal to 'trim' down your plate (and I dropped the corner stickers a bit too) but everything is completely visible. And I've noticed that some store bought frames partially block the month/year stickers.

lol, thats exactly how I pictured it would look and could imagine getting pulled over for it easily, and can imagine how easily it would scrape anything. Thanks for the pic.
