Removing the cat hump
Has anyone done this? I have been doing some searching and all that i have found is people talking about removing it. I was thinking about taking a hammer and beating the crap out of the floor and then glueing the carpt down to lay flat. If the bottom of the car looks like junk, it would not bother me since no one sees it expect me. Pics would be a great help also.

The earlier years had a large catalitic converter there..
it was moved in the last few years of production.
I really see no reason to remove it, your feet go up under the dash anyways...
If you really wanted to do it, the correct way would be to cut that section of the floor out, weld in a new flat peice, then figure out carpeting. Too much work for no real gain IMO..

I heard from someone at GM that the floorboard is exactly the same as the 3rd Gen f-body--it's the only stamped part they carried over unchanged. I don't know enough to know if that's true or not, though.

At 88mph the flux capacitor will link up to the geological bands of time and propell you back in time OR into the future!!
