Default question for those that have used nightshades spray

ok i am trying to decide if i should go with the berger panel or keep my blackouts..however i dont want them to be totally black like they are now so i was thinking about buying the nightshades spray and lightly tinting my taillights...does anyone have pics of their tailights that they sprayed with nightshades?? it would be cool if someone had a pic of some tinted about 50% lighter then blackouts

I blacked out my turn signals. I used more shade than it sounds like you want though. Horrible pics but you get the idea.

I used it with great results on my tail lights. They put a mix of dark amber in the paint that changes the light color to a real red vs, the orangish of stock. It's real clear that they designed this stuff for tail lights. Here's a couple of pics when I had it on my car. I only did two light coats. You can see that from some angles it looks jet black, from others you can see through to the honeycomb in the light housing. It all depends on the amount of light & angle. Overall I got the black look I was dealing with. & most importantly, I lost no light transmission. And another note on the pics, I just waxed the car, including the lights. as is, the paint is a little flatter in shine compared to the rest of the car. If your not big into waxing, I would suggest a shot of krylon clear & a hair of wet sanding.

I used it on my truck and on the TA and they both turned out well. I'll see if I can get some pics up tonight

I think Meissen did his taillights with Niteshades. I sprayed my sidemarkers with it, but I have covers on my tails.

the pics of the painted tailights look pretty good however im worried about passing inspection here in VA..right now to pass I have to remove my blackouts and it would really suck if i painted my tailights and failed because of that..thats why i am thinking about doing the berger panel instead

So, do you want them lighter for looks or to pass inspection? I say stick with the blackouts. Inspection problems with painted tails doesn't sound like fun.

I'm going to have to borrow unpainted sidemarkers from another T/A in order to pass inspection this February. But luckily no cops have said anything about them yet. Not even the one who gave me a warning for my taillight covers, dark windows, and no front plate.

By looks, they're covers. But I could be wrong.

Meissen's tails are not covers, I remember him saying something about how he smoked his tail lights separately and the tint came out a bit uneven.

I think as long as it is just a tint darker and not black you would be ok with inspection.
