Paint scheme for girlfriends car?
Thinking about doing away with her Cavalier and upgrading to a 96 Z28. She's wanting something different, and loves pink, so I was thinking since the car is white that I might go with some pink hockey stripes, a SS hood w/a pink stripe, and TTII's (mine so I'll have an excuse to get some C6's). I wanted some opinions because the thought crossed my mind that I could be known as the town jackass that painted a car pink, but I think it would work for her. Any suggestions?

They was a girl that had an 98 SS that was pink. Pearl Pink to be exact! It didn't look bad beacause it was a light pink color, and it also helped out that she was hot, and they car was loud as hell. She then sold it, and got a 01SS. They new owner(male) drove it around for a few days. He looked really gay in it, Then it got painted back to the original white.
As far as your idea, I say do it. Especially is she is good lookin. Somethin different to stand out!!

there was a girl here that had racing stripes on an SS in light pink, looked good and fit her car. if its a subtle light pink, go for it. but if its like bright pink in ur face then NO

I think pink stripes on the exterior will look like ***. Especially on a 'camaro. I would say upgrade to an older vette and paint the whole thing pink.
Barbie style. She'll like that better.

That's funny actually, because she's got a picture of a 70's model stingray on her phone that she saw when she was in Nashville and constantly talks about wanting one.
Like THE PUNSSHR and 1sicv6 said, light pink is what I'm thinking. Not much into the darker/hot pink.

I'd suggest doing pink anniversary stripes and pink overlays for the Z28 badges. But I'd leave the hockey stripes off. Or get an SS hood with the anniversary stripes.

i have pink emblems, calipers, and inserts but did not want any kind of stripe. most people think its cool. one guy told me i ruined my car cuz no one would buy it now -camaros were "man cars". i told him 1-it wasn't a man's car and 2- i wasn't selling it.
i did it mainly because everyone always asked me if it was was boyfriend's or dad's car. they dont ask anymore.....

If she wants pink I would only get a stripe kit.
She won't own that car forever, and selling a car with pink paint especially when the future potential buyers will be guys will severely limit the buying interest. Even if it's a girl buyer in the future she may not want pink. Only put on what can be removed easily and without spending $ to re-paint before sale.
My advice... don't put on pink PAINT. Poor Camaro.

I'm just looking at the financial part. Pink inserts and small items compared to trying to sell a car with a big pink painted stripe are two different things. Who cares what color it is while she owns it, I'm just saying that trying to sell a car that's completely depreciated and worth maybe $4000 and having to pay to have pink paint removed just so you can sell will be a real drain.

ok question. is it just because its pink? you said a guy would be buying the car. what about any stripe? say the next buyer HATES red... I highly doubt re-sale value comes to mind before you put on a red mod.
yea i know more people will not want a unique color like pink over something like red - its just an example. But how many people put thousands into their cars only to change things before selling it? Why not have what you want while you have it? Somethings that look good just dont work well without having them pretty permanent. So why ride around with half-assed crap because 4 years from now you're gonna sell it?
