Default Under hood appearance

Hey, while i am completing bolt ons i want to spice up my engine compartment. My car is pretty loaded with appearance except for under the hood. I have some plans. I was thinking....
1.) Fill in the "corvette" on my FRCs and get them custom painted a shiny black with "Trans Am" painted in red and have some dark red flames around the letters or soemthing of that theme and have my LS6 intake painted shiny black with dark red flames. The take my suncoast airbox and have the box part itself sprayed shiny black with some flames. Then i was trying to find a "red" or black filter for it since mine is sort of purple.

I was then thinking of polishing up some stuff, get mirrors for the hood, get some LOTB emblems for the wheel well areas, then use something over all my wires in red. What do you think about this? Who can custom paint all my pieces for a good price? Any suggestions/opinions? Heres my engine bay so far.

It seems a lot of people like the clean look the best with a few accents. I've seen all sorts of themes and ideas for engine bays. To me, most look good since they're either unique, clean, or a mixture. So far, your engine is looking good. I'd add the red accents to the FRCs and polish some stuff up. Personally not a big fan of colored wires (or loom), prefer the wire mod. Either way, get what you like. I have the hood mirrors and really like them, but I've had several poke fun about it. Again, I like them and they stay on all the time. To each their own.

Thats currently what my motor looks like. I am having my FRCs painted in pewter with black lettering as well. I like most of your ideas, adding some red to your FRCs will help a lot, and maybe add some red MSD wires. The red wire loom idea would't look too good I am afraid. I did chrome wire looms on my previous LS1 and it was kinda blah in retrospect. Get some Mother's and you can polish up your dryer and that will be a nice touch. If you plan to put an LS6 intake on soon, I would acquire it first and get it painted the way you want then install it. I wouldn't waste the energy or resources painting your LS1 intake unless you plan to keep it long term. Your other ideas are good IMHO, good luck with it all.

I wouldn't paint a filiter, not that I have a real reason why not, It just doesn't seem like a good idea to me, but maybe someone who knows will chime in. I think the !wires mod will do a lot for the looks, when it gets warm out I plan on doing it to mine, I cant wait to get that ugly blob outta their Another idea would be to get one of those decals for the AC thing. I've seen em somewhere, they are octangular, and dress it up nicely...

You should look up a local vinal or sign maker and have them make ya some black Trans-Am stickers, and put one on your STB, facing front, that would look nice

have fun and go wild !

I heard that the color of the filter depends on the oil that is used to clean it, not sure though. For the AC decal go to fourthcircledesigns.com

That is an LS6 intake, sanded smooth, then base/clear.

Im working on polishing some aluminum components as of now, but its still a work in progress. I have some Corvette FRC's, but i dont like the way they look, so im just going to either polish, or powdercoat the valvecover.

BTW, wire look better hidden, look up the wire mod or something. No wires is better than making wire looms stand out.
