A GOOD paint job from a body shop usually runs $3000 and up. The better quality and better materials, the more you spend. Best thing to do is make a friend that paints and get him to do it. For decent materials and a show quality shine I usually charge around $1200 (many hours of blocking and buffing). If you change the color of your car, and have it done right (door jams, firewall, etc) look at spending a TON! I suggest you stay white. White paint is cheap, hides everything, and is easy to keep clean.

Keep it white. Also, when you have your car painted, have a contract made out, that the car will be done on this date and have them sign it. I have dealt with many painters that put my cars on the back burner. A 2 month job turned into a 7 month job. Also, check in on the progress, take pictures, and ask questions. This a big investment, so make sure your dealing with a quality painter. Look at the things he/she is working on at the present time and cars that they have painted in the past. It also wouldn't hurt to go to the local parts stores in your area. I'm sure the managers know the good painters in town due to customers coming in and taking about them.

Around $3400 give or take a little, Also be sure to let them know what you expect in the final product if you have it done. Of all the body shops I have worked in I have only worked with a hand full of techs that take pride in there work.

Now that thats been said I say leave it white,

Heres a pic. of mine..

My paint job cost around $1000, but I did most the labor, (scuffing, wetsanding, etc) buddy painted/buffed.... biggest cost was the materials.
