Tinted Windows
What degree should I get my windows tinted? I want them dark enough that people won't be able to see in. I've had the car for over two years and havn't tinted the windows because of the cost, but now I have connections, so I'm getting a deal..
How much did it cost for yalls?

think you should also keep in mind if you drive it often the legal limit, diferent states have a diferent limit, and believe me if you have a branch of auto cops(police that specialize in checking cars for violations after pulling them over) they can use a laser and in 3 secs tell you that you have to strip your tint and pay a big fine, or ride with your windows down LOL

Definitely go 5% all the way around, I have had 20% on front and 5% on back and it doesn’t compare to 5% all around. Higher percentages don't always look good in certain lighting. In Michigan any front glass tinting is illegal, but if you have ever been here, you can tell nobody cares lol

Skatinjay...I generally do not like how the LT1 Firebirds look, but yours looks amazing!
My friend has 4.5% all the way around on his Firebird and it looks damn good with his Pewter. But we have to roll the windows down just to see at night when I'm riding with him.
I have tint all the way around on my SS, but I'm not sure on the percentage since it was on the car when I bought it. I'd say it's about 30% though. I wanted darker, but now that I have this, I am happy with it. It's dark enough to not let much light inside, but light enough to actually be able to see at night.

Where are you located? If you are considering buying some tint here in U.S.A. and having it shipped out to wherever you are...it might just be cheaper to buy it where you are. But then again, I am jumping the gun and answering things that I know nothing about.

Limo Tint [2.5%] Back and 15% Sides... $175 with Lifetime Warranty!!
The pic below is under direct Sun light at around 2 PM... Once the Sun sets, you can barely see inside the car, and nothing once it gets dark... 5% all around is totally BAD A$$, but it gets a lil too dark for my comfort at night...
If you wanna go totally stealth, get 5% all around AND 35% [nothing more/nothing less] on the front windshield!! Some tint shops won't do the front windshield!!
Also, if you don't have/use T-Top shades, get a Limo Tint on the T-Tops too!!
Whatever you do, def. get the hatch done 5% or lower [if available] AND make sure they do the film in ONE piece.. Some do a great job with TWO piece film, but I had a bad experience so just wanted to warn ya about that possibilty..

I read somewhere on this site that something breaks in side the window area and it will cause the tint to scratch off..is that true? I really want to get my car done, but don't want to speed 200 on something that is gonna scratch off.
