Question Scratch X by hand - did it work for you?

As it says. Were you successful in removing light scratches/swirls/cobwebs from your clearcoat? Also post your results and your process.

It would also be helpful if you listed the year of the car you were working on and how bad of a condition it was in before you started.

my comment to them would be either it was not used correctly, or used on something it was not designed to correct.

ScratchX is one of the best scratch removers I have ever used, and it is one of the first things I pull out of my bag when I am working on a car. I will almost always hit the trouble spots with ScratchX prior to starting work on entire panels.

For those of you that say it didn't work.. what were you trying to do with it, and how did you go about it?

I followed the directions here.

Seemed to remove some of the scratches. I'm happy.

Did an okay job. Definitely didn't remedy all of them, but it helped a little. I usually use it on my tail-lights only..

ScratchX does have some cleaners and light abrasives and will remove *some* defects, but it also contains fillers, etc., so there might be more left than you see.

I've used it for over a year now and it let me down ONLY one time but I was pretty sure that it wasn't going to get out the scratch anyways I used some Med Cut cleaner and followed it up with the Scratch X and it was all better then. You gotta use the right product for the job.

It didn't do a bad job on my old '95 TA. I had some light swirl marks on the hood and it took out the majority of them. The car was in great shape when I started thought.

Was used on a brand new truck, where it looked like something brushed up against it. Wasnt deep, wasnt even that noticeable, but I followed the directions on how to use it, and it did nothing for me.

You really have to rub it hard and fast to make it do anything, but even then , its usually a flop for me.

Once the stuff dries after rubbing it for a while, it will not work as intended. It can't dry out while using it.

it does work, but you have to use a hell of a lot of "effort". I think the deep crystal polish is a good step to follow as well and may try it in future.
