Chrome Vents... Yay of Ney?
alright. just got myself a 2000 WS6 last week (finally after 2 months of shopping around! i got a hell of a deal though!). i'm looking to make some subtle exterior mods first to get a custom appearance. the first thing i am wanting to do is change the front and side vents on the car. GS Creations makes some chrome vents and i THINK they would look good on my black bird, providing a little differentiation between the body color and the actual vent color. i'm wondering if anyone has these on their T/A or anything similar. any feedback or pics would be extremely helpful in making my decision. check out these links and just tell me what you think, even if you haven't used these on your ride. thanks!

I hear the dragonZ28 makes some awesome stainless steel items that destroy the fit, finish and quality of plastic, quasi-mirror, "acrylic". I also hear he sells on eBay and will be a site sponsor very soon.

yea... the side vents don't come out though... so placing the chrome vents on top is really the only option. although the nostrils can be removed in 30 secs, so i'm not too sure why they aren't just made to be completely replaced.

don't waste your money on that acrylic .... get some quality stainless steel ones. A member of our board (DragonZ28) makes these custom and sells them on ebay under the username of muffinbuster. They look great, just like chrome:
You can pop these in and out too ... but you shouldn't need to anyways... these will outlast your paint on your car.

wow... see, now that's helpful. i think that looks very tasteful. i'd imagine that they might even look a bit better on a black car (no offense, your car is beautiful!).

hmmm... a bit pricey, but they're worth it, eh?
so the nostril vents cover the factory ones, not replace? adhesive backing or do the screw onto the factory ones?

The nostrils are covers... they attach with the same screw that holds on the stock ones.
The side vents have tiny little screws/bolts that attach them to the factory black plastic. Then you just pop them back in. You couldn't ask for a better fit. The holes line up so perfectly all you can really see is the small black plastic outline around the edges of the covers. Really helps the look on non-black cars.
I think they are more than worth it... one of my favorite things about my car's appearance. As far as price goes... it isn't much cheaper to get the plastic stuff... and they just don't hold up.
