Default turning back the miles?????

can u turn back the miles on a 98-02 gauge cluster?? it has 98,000 on it and my car has 77,777. i just wanted to know if u can do that or can i even use it on 95..if not i am sellikng it for $75+shipping

no turn backs, but it's easily disabled....but sorry not exactly legal so cant tell you

oh sorry, actually it can be done, but by a certified shop with a legitamate reason....some dealers can do it too, but you can't do it yourself.

i got it on ebay(the cluster) and i want to put it in my car. my car has 77,777 on the clock! i am not trying to rip some one off!!!

I think if you swap out the digital read outs then it will fix your problem. I'm not 100% sure though.

how about the older models like 94's... theyre mechanical, is that easy to do?

there are people that actually make a living on turning back tripometers....its all under the table stuff, and they charge up the butt...my dad has done it a few times to his truck

93-96 have the mechanical odometers, 97-02 have the digital. i understand what he is saying, he wants the newer style guages and he just wants the miles to read accurately.

Maybe you should buy a cluster with comparable miles to yours, and drive your car to those miles until you put it in?

The PCM controls what he cluster reads...its nothing to do with the cluster. If you are trying to put a digital cluster in a mechanical odometer car it simply wont work.

If indeed your car has a digital cluster already, you simply plug in the new cluster and the mileage will read the same as the PCM controls this.

hmmm sooo.....your truck has low miles, and it's a 89...but the motor is smoking up the ***. hmmmm must be a cold start becuase clearly the odometer has low miles...it's a DEAL!! where do i sign!!
