Default opinions on momo type steering wheels

the buttons on my stock steering wheel are chipping like crazy and the leather doesn't look much better. Since i dont know what to do to replace the holes where the buttons are, i've been thinking of a steering wheel like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MakeTrack=true

I think it'll match my interior really well. looking something like this:

Thoughts?

It looks good. I've been thinking about an after market steering wheel myself for a while, but a lot of the wheels out there have a real "autozone" look to them. I'd be looking for something with a high quality leather wrap.

I've been thinking about a MOMO wheel for a long time. I say go for it, but make sure you get a good quality brand. Wouldn't want it to break in half while taking a corner sideways.

I highly suggest not doing that if you drive your car on the street. If you get in a wreck, the insurance company will find out, and you may have some problems come as a result.

Tow the car to your house. Do the swap.

Wheelskins.com makes a quality wheel cover, as in a real you-sew-it-on cover. Have one myself and I heart it. I'd give that a shot.

I have a momo steering wheel for my 96 ws6. It looks badass. Remember it deletes the airbag, and you should get a spacer with the steering wheel or it rubs a little bit. Overall, I am very pleased.

Airbags are over-rated...they only save lives, but who wants to live in an accident anyways???

I keep mine only cause the airbags...there is a reason they put them in cars..probably they want you to not die in an accident..silly bastards wanting to save lives...

Well, I've driven plenty of 60's cars and none of them had airbags. It doesn't cross my mind to tell you the truth. Some people are born as worriers and others are born as doers.

Guy was asking about a steering wheel, appearance wise, not to get a lecture from the safety gurus. EVERYTIME someone asks about a steering wheel we have to hear this.

Personalli I like it and i think it really improves the interior. If I was going to do it the only thing I would do different would be, the center section on yours is silver or aluminum and I would want the whole wheel to be leather wrapped or balck to match the interior better and look more OEM.

the vette steering wheel is incredibly cool...if you could take that wheel, put a pontiac emblem in the middle where the flags are, that would be bad ***...

I had a Momo Prototipo on My Skyline in Japan. Momo wheels are great. They look awesome and feel just as good. I would say go for it.
