Sneak peak at my smoothed interior panels!
Ok so here is the first coat of clear, gonna wetsand and spray another coat of clear in the morning before school/work. Then depending on how it looks I might wetsand and spray another coat of clear, if not ill just wetsand with 1000-2000 then buff/polish and wait for the other panels to be done! Seats are being re-upholstered, just ordered some black carpet and waiting for a paycheck from job #3 tommorow and I'll pay insurance and buy a ABS plastic headliner. Interior should be 95% done next week. (Head Unit, Speakers, finish the rear seat delete box).
I'll take some daytime pics Friday. I have class 8-9:30 tommorow, job #3 from 10-4, job #1 5-10. So you can wait a couple days for the better pics anyways after the second coat of clear!

to prevent chiping i applied this stuff by DuPont called PLAS-STICK before I layed down any sandable primer. Once the panels were smooth I layed down another small coat. The stuff adheres to the plastic and allows paint to stick to it acting like a flexible bonding agent. It's a lot of manwork but def. worth it. Lots of polishing and waxing to help keep clean. No more people in back seats since I took those out and built a delete box. Don't use the trunk space that much so I won't be throwing crap back there or using it that often. Door panels are only thing I'm really going to have to keep up on. I just might smooth the inner part of the door panels and the other part just leave flat since those tend to scratch up a lot! Thanks for the compliments, I was n't expecting those!

1) Clean pieces with laquor thinner or paint thinner to get all the dirt off.
2) Rough up the panels with 220 Grit
3) lay a coat of PLAS-STICk
4) Coat of sandable primer
5) Wetsand lightly with 220, heavy on 400. Wash down with hot soapy water.
6)Another coat of sandable primer. Wetsand again with 400 until things start getting really smooth. Wash with hot soapy water.
7) Either wetsand with 600 to get really smooth, or lay down another coat of sandable primer go with 400 then 600, until everything is pretty damn smooth. Wash again.
8) Another light coat of PLAS-STICK
9) However many coats of base you want.
10) However many coats of clear, just make sure you wetsand with 1000-2000 and buff/polish/wax!
Oh and my 5% tint, and garage/shaded parking at all times should help! It's automotive paint and clear so that shiat better not fade! Or PPG will be getting some complaints lol.
