No - the ***** don't light up at all - they're solid - no slash for the indicator

Mine aren't MBA, but they do have a small hole that lets the light shine through so you can see which direction they are pointing at night. Apparently it was really cold the day I took these pics....

I got the ones with the little light holes in them. You can just see them in the photo pointing straight up.
