Aftermarket Carpet?
As some of you know I am in the process of "re-doing" my interior. I have come to a fork in the road as to what aftermarket replacement carpet to buy. I've heard good and bad about stockinteriors.com, heard good about the ozite **** you would have to cut and mold yourself, and haven't heard much about the stuff from yearone. I'm just looking for a standard black or red which I have not decided on yet either. All input will be greatly appreciated. BTW, all interior panels are going black, leather insert on door is gonna be red, seats are being re-upholstered to black with red stitching and red-suede insert, shift boot and e-brake boot are black with red stitching and piping, floormats are black with red phoenix and trans am lettering and stitching, and some other crap. Just give me some input!

The cut-yourself stuff is still really good. 2 hours, sizzors, razor blades, hair dryer, and 6-pack(for after the job) and you saved a hundred bucks. A plus is that you can leave more carpet above floor mats and center of dash so any lights dont show anything on the floorboard. $$$$ save it for more mods.

i am going with red inserts in the door. i think i am just gonna go with black for now with the Ozite material. It's cheap so I can buy both black and red and if i ever wanted to change out I'd have that red stuff ready to go in! Plus if i have both sitting there i can lay them in and test out before I go through with anything!

oh and what is the cheapest yet effective sound deadening material? remember I'm a college student who is trying to make this as cheap yet good looking as possible! I want something that will deaden up the sound just a little bit since I won't have that stock rubber mat in there!

Dude, forget all the nay-sayers. The next time you're in town look at my car. The red carpet does NOT over power red accents in the interior. I haven't had one negative comment from the hundreds of people that have seen my interior.

I've got red carpet, red suede Recaro seats, red leather shifter boot, red-painted door-handle trim, red-painted gauge cluster trim, hvac *****, also putting the red Recaro suede door inserts.
You have to remember that you hardly see ANY of the carpet at all. Your mats will cover much of the front and the only visible areas in the front will be about 2 square feet MAYBE. If you're like me and don't run mats in the back seating area you'll have that visible as well.
I'm getting the door inserts red because I was a little disappointed at just how little of the carpet is visible; you don't really take notice UNTIL you change your stock color.
