yeah i want to but since im new to driving my dad is telling me that the last thing i need to do is add tinted windows and reduce my visibility. Anyone have any ideas how to respond POLITELY to that so i can get it done?

if you live were its hot just tell your dad that it will cut out heat in the car and the interior will hold up longer. if its cold there then say it retains the heat longer so the car warms up faster, or just some bull ****

lol best bet, is to show ur dad ur more than capable of doin so, by showing him that ur calm, cool, and collected, thinking before u make any decisions. it may take some time..but he'll eventually see that as long as u stay out of trouble, not only with ur car, but with everything else, he'd accept ur tint wishes. go ahead an say "sure pops...i personally think im more than adept to handle a legal tint job on my car, but since ur my dad, i gotta respect ur opinion an ill trust ur judgement."

who knows...maybe start takin him out on night drives, or drive more at night, lettn him realize ur driving alot, even now, with limited visibility. after some time, bring it up again an let him know about ur nightly escapades an see wut he says about that. sometimes patience is the best answer

Tint is required it is not an option! Tell your dad it will help preserve your interior or something like that.

I think 20% is fine. Thats what I have and you can see perfect all around just like its not there. I definitely noticed the heat reduction and i wasnt even in a hot state.

Just tell him youll get 30 which is legal and actually get 20 cause theres no big difference and my dad didnt notice cause hes not into modding cars.

Go for it. But, I wouldn't go darker than 25%, because then its a bitch to see out at night.

Default Don't invite the police

Keep it lightly tinted. Many states have strict 'tint' laws and also some law enforcement agencies set aside one big blitz of enforcement certain weekends each year. You may never run into a problem but keep it in mind. There are many people who have been cited and forced to remove the illegal tint. Find out your state's tolerance (percentage) and make a wise decision.
