Putting 93-96 taillights on my 99

Default Putting 93-96 taillights on my 99

hey guys i bought some 93-96 style lights for my 99, did you all that have done the swap have to modify the 93-96 style so the bulb sockets would snap in correctly?

i have heard you have to play with them alittle and modify slightly...but just try and set them in see how it works out

Well the new styles drop and socket fit 100% on an old style car. They should drop right in. If you are lazy you might wanna give the sockets/gaskets a good once over and possibly just go ahead and replace the bulbs. I know it's easy to do but I really hate taking the tail lamps out.

If they have aged at all you might want to sharpen them back up with some 3M or similar plastic polish before you put them on the car. Same for the center section. Since the parts have different lives on them sometimes the center section looks a lot different and makes it look funny. Polish all three of em back up at the same time and you be rollin.

well i tried setting them in, looks like im going to have to dremel down one of the tabs on the brake and turn signal sockets to get them to work correctly. will try to post pics when i get this done to show the issue

Feel really dumb but I didn't notice the whole Camaro thing. Birds are drop in.

hopefully later today or tomorrow i am going to start fooling with this. my camera is dead and i have no charger so im gettin ready to run to the store and buy one. but when i get a camera i will document what i had to do to make it work.
