Default What's the longest lasting wax you've used?

I don't want to know what gives the best shine, I just want to know which ones last the longest between car washes.

Well I drive down a gravel road everyday, a muddy road when it rains, & drive the car every day.

I absolutely hate waxing my car, so the least I would have to wax while keeping my paint in good condition, the better.

Ever heard of Collinite No. 476s. Now mind you I haven't tried this wax myself, yet, but I've read a lot of good things about it on a couple of detailing forums. Its suppose to be really durable. Might want to look it up.

It's definitely Zaino. The best by far but it's quite expensive

well first of all you dont want a true "wax" the longest lasting paint protection is going to end up coming from a synthetic sealent such as blackfire all purpose paint protection, mernzerna fmj, griots garage sealent ect.... zaino is a good product but i dont think itll outlast some of the others but be prepared for 50 people to say zaino as there are to many nut swingers that havent tried anything else.... but then again there are some people who have tried a variety that just prefer zaino

COLLINITE. C O L L I N I T E.

The longest-lasting wax is Collinite. It'll even last THROUGH a wash.

I like zaino becasue it can be layered as many times as you want it to last and it will get shinier the more you layer.

Well, I'm no nut swinger as someone so eloquently put it. I have, in fact tried many different kinds of waxes and Zaino lasted the longest of the ones that I have personally tried. This was through 40,000 miles of daily driving through sunshine, snow, sleet, sandstorms, wind, rain...you name it the car did it. It was a true daily driver and I washed it every other day.

So are selants permanent? I'm confused...

I want the protection to last a long time
and through washes, but I also want it to
have a decent shine.

Sealants aren't permanent they just last a lot longer than canuba based wax's.

Normally detailers have a certain process they use and it normally always involves a sealant first and then a canuba based wax or glaze etc second.

The layer of Meg's NxT and then Collinite on my parents Acura Tl is still holding up strong after numerous washes and its exposure to salt from august until now.

Collinite is known for their longevity. I have had very durable results with layering P21S on my daily driver. Carnaubas can last a surprisingly long amount of time if they are slowly layered and allowed to cure without interruption from harsh soap.

I have tried many different products, and in my experience, Zaino is the longest lasting.

Zaino, Klasse, and Collinite are going to be your best choices.

Meguiar's NXT was one of the worst.

Out of curiousity, which of these products do you use and what kind of durability do you get from it?

I agree. My friend had a black Grand Am and constantly used to wax it with Collinite. Not only was the paint well protected but it really looked sweet.
