Help me get my engine compartment show rdy
Ok here is what im starting with and trying to decide what to do next. Please give me some suggestions I thought about fuel rail covers but cant decide on a design. I also thought about getting some carbon fiber or polished pieces and painting some items.

Yeah, you can unbolt the MAF ends and polish them up. The throttle body can be polished up too, you shouldn't need to take out the blade though. You should get some billet polish and hit the front of your heads, the ac canister and lines, and anything else metal. Battery cover, fuel rail covers, wire mod and hood latch mod, etc.
As for caps and polished engine bay stuff, search this site
buickgn dot com/index.html
Not sure if the mods will get rid of the site so PM me if it goes away. I think it should be okay since not of the sponsors really has a selection of polished parts.

Im doing some polished as we speak and I sand everything by hand, a dremel can cause waves in the metal. Depending on the amount of cast on the material, I may start as low as 60 and work my way up to 1500 or 2000 and finish by polishing with some Mother's Billet Polish. If I had a buffing wheel, it would be much easier. With stuff thats already smooth, you could start with 320 grit sandpaper, unless there are deep scratches, then work your way up from 320 to 600,800,1000,1500 and so on. I always switch sanding directions with the next grit in order to remove all the scratches from the previous grit. My project is a little bigger than what you are working with so I expect it to take a few weeks of working in my spare time.
As for the hood latch mod, I think that it may be in the sticky "Appearance Hall of Fame" at the top of the appearance section. It just relocates the hood latch cable from on top of the drivers side fenderwell to underneath so it is hidden.
Good luck and post up some pics as you go along, we all love to see beginning and end pictures.

Thanks man yeh I done some polishing by hand b4 to some wheels and its alot of work. I have a buffing wheel also so ill see what I can do. As far as polishing the ac tho I was trying to think of the best way to do it with it on the car. Do most guys polish that on the car or off?

The a/c can be polished w/o disconnecting. I did my ABS block, brake lines, p/s cooler, MAF ends, rocker covers, fuel manifold by hand and a couple of buffing wheels on an 40 yr old electric drill. All it takes is time and patience. "Luster Lace" is for wire wheels but works great on tubing.
