Help Cleaning Tarnished Exhaust Tips
My Borla Stainless Steel exhaust tips have got some kinda purple discoloration on them that I am not too happy about. SEE PIC BELOW.
Anyone have ANY ideas on how to clean this, or is it even possible to clean?

I have used MEGUAIR's NXT METAL POLYSH.
This stuff works killer. I wash my exhaust tips after every car wash and thought they were clean till I used this stuff. There was ALOT of carbon deposits that came off and the tips looked even better!!!!
I'm not sure if it'll work for tarnished tips? Maybe worth a try?
GOOD LUCK!!

Cool thanks for the tip. I am not so sure that will work. I am thinking that I am going to need something stronger. The stuff your talking about would be good for keeping them clean but this tarnish is pretty stubborn.

I think it is tempering of the metal due to heat. I don't think it will polish out. I had a custom exhaust on my previous Bird and was advised in advance that the tips would turn a little yellow over time. I use Eagle One Never Dull to polish wheels and tips. Good luck.

3M metal polish might work. I used it to remove the heat stains at the weld joints on my stainless exhaust. It takes a little effort, but it worked for me.
